How to Earn 3.25% APR on Polymarket

How does it work?
Polymarket currently offers a 3.25% annualized Holding Reward on eligible positions in selected markets. According to the team, a new reward and oracle resolution system is expected to launch later this year, along with a simple one-click migration process.
The current rate is set at 3.25% and applies to all eligible positions. This rate is variable and subject to change at Polymarket’s discretion.
Your total position value is randomly sampled once each hour, and the reward is distributed daily. Your rewards are calculated based on the total position value of your eligible positions at the time of evaluation.
Why does Polymarket offer Holding Rewards?
Holding Rewards are designed to encourage liquidity and long-term participation in selected markets.
By rewarding users for maintaining positions, Polymarket helps improve market depth and pricing efficiency.
How is Total Position Value calculated?
Holding Rewards are based on the total market value of your eligible positions at the moment of each hourly snapshot.
Polymarket calculates your position value using:
- the number of “Yes” and “No” shares you hold
- the current midpoint price of each position
For example:
30,000 “Yes” shares priced at $0.53 + 10,000 “No” shares priced at $0.45
Your total eligible position value would be:
(30,000 × 0.53) + (10,000 × 0.45) = $15,900 + $4,500 = $20,400
At a 3.25% annualized Holding Reward rate, this position would earn approximately:
$20,400 × (0.0325 / 365 / 24) ≈ $0.075 per hour
$0.075 × 24 ≈ $1.80 per day

Rewards are sampled hourly and distributed daily.
Which markets pay 3.25% APR?
At the moment, Holding Rewards are only available on a small number of long-term markets:
Presidential Election Winner 2028
Republican Presidential Nominee 2028
Democratic Presidential Nominee 2028
Which party wins 2028 US Presidential Election?
Balance of Power: 2026 Midterms
Which party will win the Senate in 2026?
Which party will win the House in 2026?
Erdoğan out by December 31, 2026?
Zelenskyy out as Ukraine president by end of 2026?
Putin out as President of Russia by December 31, 2026?
How can I safely farm 3.25% APR?
Select any eligible market from the list above.
In this example, we’ll use the "Putin out as President of Russia by December 31, 2026?" market.
Next, open the order type menu and select the "Split" option. Enter the amount you want to allocate toward the 3.25% Holding Reward.
How does Split work?
The Split function allows you to simultaneously buy both "Yes" and "No" shares.
For example, if you split $100 into a market:
- $50 will be converted into "Yes" shares
- $50 will be converted into "No" shares
Since one side of the market will always resolve to $1 while the other resolves to $0, holding both sides ensures that your total position value remains relatively stable.
This allows you to earn Holding Rewards without taking meaningful directional exposure to the outcome of the market.
How to exit the position?
If you want to get your funds back, you can close the position at any time using the "Merge" function.
Merge combines your "Yes" and "No" shares back into USDC at a 1:1 value.
For example:
- 5000 "Yes" shares + 5000 "No" shares
- → merge back into $5000 USDC
FAQ
Can I withdraw at any time?
Yes. You can merge your position back into USDC whenever you want.
Do all markets support Holding Rewards?
No. Only selected long-term markets are eligible.
Can I compound Holding Rewards?
Yes. You can periodically reinvest your rewards by splitting additional USDC into the same or other eligible markets.
Why doesn’t everyone use this strategy?
The main reason is that Holding Rewards are only available on a small number of long-term markets, and the current APR is relatively modest compared to higher-risk crypto strategies.
