Polymarket Maker Rebate Calculator

How maker rebates work

Taker fees collected in a market are partly redistributed to the makers who provided the liquidity. You earn back a share of the taker fee matched against your resting order — 20% on Crypto, 25% on most other categories, 0% on fee-free Geopolitics — paid daily in pUSD.

The reward pool (the category share of taker fees) and your cut of it (your share of maker volume) cancel out: every fill has one maker and one taker at the same size and price, so the totals are equal. That leaves a clean per-fill amount:

Matched taker fee = shares × fee rate × price × (1 − price)
Maker rebate = matched taker fee × rebate %

Frequently asked

How do Polymarket maker rebates work?

Maker rebates are funded by taker fees collected in a market. As a maker you earn back a share of the taker fee matched against you — 20% on Crypto, 25% on most other categories, 0% on fee-free Geopolitics — settled daily in pUSD. Polymarket docs

How much do I earn as a maker?

Rebate = matched taker fee × the category rebate share, where matched taker fee = shares × fee rate × price × (1 − price). Example: 100 shares filled at 50¢ in Crypto → 100 × 0.07 × 0.5 × 0.5 = $1.75 matched fee → ×20% = $0.35.

Does my rebate depend on other makers?

No — it cancels out. The pool is the category share of all taker fees, and your cut is your share of all maker volume. Because every fill is one maker and one taker with the same size and price, those totals are equal, so your rebate simplifies to the matched taker fee × the rebate share.

Which category pays makers the most?

Crypto has the highest fee (7%) but the lowest rebate share (20%); most other categories pay 25% of a smaller fee. Geopolitics is fee-free, so it pays no rebate. The dollar amount peaks near 50¢, where price × (1 − price) is largest.
